Ownership & Copyright Policy
Authorship & Contributorship
Authorship should reflect substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript.
Individuals listed as authors should have made meaningful contributions to the work, participated in drafting or critically revising the manuscript, approved the final version, and accepted responsibility for the integrity of the work.
All authors should agree to the submitted version of the manuscript and to its publication.
Individuals who contributed to the work but do not qualify for authorship may be recognized in the Acknowledgements section, subject to their consent.
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and should ensure that:
all eligible contributors are appropriately recognized;
all listed authors have approved the manuscript;
author order has been agreed upon;
relevant declarations have been completed; and
any changes in authorship are appropriately explained and approved.
Changes to authorship after submission or acceptance require a legitimate justification and agreement from all affected authors.
Guest, honorary, gift, or ghost authorship is not permitted.
Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably influence—or appear to influence—their judgment.
Potential conflicts may include:
research funding;
employment;
consultancy;
financial interests;
patents;
personal relationships;
institutional interests;
academic competition; or
other relevant professional relationships.
Authors should include a Conflict of Interest Statement in every manuscript.
Where no conflict exists, authors may state:
"The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest."
Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest could compromise impartiality.
Corrections & Retractions
JANOLI International Journal of Life Sciences recognizes the importance of maintaining an accurate and reliable scholarly record.
Corrections
A published article may be corrected when an error is identified that does not invalidate the principal findings or conclusions of the article.
Corrections will be linked to the original article and will clearly identify the nature of the correction.
Retractions
An article may be retracted where there is substantial evidence of serious problems affecting its reliability or integrity.
Reasons for retraction may include:
fabricated or falsified data;
major methodological or analytical errors;
plagiarism;
duplicate publication;
unethical research;
fraudulent authorship;
serious undisclosed conflicts of interest; or
other circumstances that materially undermine the integrity of the published work.
Retracted articles will remain part of the scholarly record where appropriate, but their retracted status will be clearly identified.
Copyright & Licensing
Unless otherwise stated, copyright arrangements will be clearly specified for each published article.
Authors retain appropriate rights in their scholarly work subject to the journal's publishing agreement and licensing terms.
For open-access articles, JANOLI may publish articles under a Creative Commons license, such as CC BY, where adopted by the journal.
