Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

JANOLI International Journal of Applied Sciences is committed to a transparent, fair, and academically rigorous peer-review process. Peer review is intended to evaluate the originality, scientific validity, methodological quality, relevance, and clarity of submitted manuscripts.

Step 1: Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal's designated online submission system or official submission email, following the current author guidelines.

Step 2: Initial Editorial Screening

The editorial office checks whether the manuscript fits the journal's scope and complies with submission requirements. Initial screening may include assessment of completeness, originality, ethical declarations, reference quality, and research relevance.

Manuscripts that are out of scope, incomplete, or clearly unsuitable may be declined without external review.

Step 3: Plagiarism and Research Integrity Screening

Submissions may be screened using appropriate similarity-detection tools and editorial checks. Similarity scores are interpreted in context; they do not independently establish whether plagiarism has occurred.

Potential concerns involving duplicate publication, fabricated data, image manipulation, authorship disputes, or other ethical issues are handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.

Step 4: Independent Expert Review

Manuscripts passing initial screening are sent to independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise.

The journal should specify and consistently apply its chosen review model, such as double-anonymous peer review, in which author and reviewer identities are concealed from one another to the extent practicable.

Reviewers evaluate:

Originality and significance

Scientific accuracy and methodological rigor

Quality of data, analysis, and interpretation

Adequacy of references and engagement with relevant literature

Reproducibility and transparency, where applicable

Clarity, structure, and suitability for the journal

Step 5: Editorial Decision

Based on the reviews and the editor's independent assessment, the manuscript may be:

Accepted

Accepted subject to minor revisions

Returned for major revisions

Rejected

Acceptance is not guaranteed by submission, payment, editorial-board membership, or any other consideration unrelated to scholarly merit.

Step 6: Revision and Reassessment

Authors may be asked to provide a point-by-point response to reviewers and revise their manuscript. Revised submissions may be returned to the original reviewers when additional assessment is necessary.

Step 7: Final Acceptance and Production

Accepted manuscripts undergo editorial preparation, proofreading, reference and metadata checks, and final production. Publication takes place after the required editorial and production checks have been completed.

Step 8: Post-Publication Corrections

The journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when warranted by the evidence and in accordance with its publication ethics policy.

Editorial independence: The Editor-in-Chief or an appropriately independent editor should oversee decisions involving editorial-board members, the publisher's associates, or other individuals with potential conflicts of interest.

Implementation requirement: Publish review timelines, reviewer expectations, confidentiality requirements, conflict-of-interest procedures, and the actual review model only after these have been formally adopted and are consistently implemented.
